About Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline in Southern Italy's Compania region comprised of 13 towns and villages. Cliffside towns makes for stunning views, but don't forget your comfy shoes for those stairs!
In mid-September you can expect weather between 65º–80ºF, and water that has been warmed all summer!
Tips:
1. Stay in more than one town to get the true experience
2. Travel via water as much as possible! The stairs to get to the roads can be brutal, plus being on the water is always more fun. (& do not rent a car - when you see the cliffside roads you'll understand)
3. In less touristy towns, hotels can be a great option so you have an English speaking concierge to help with booking taxis or reservations.
4. Book things in advance! Boats, beachclubs, and restaurants all tend to book up in advance so make sure to make a reservation - some of which are done via email or whatsapp.
Airport: Naples Airport (NAP)
Naples is the closest airport to all Amalfi coast cities - however, you typically cannot fly into Naples direct from the US.
We recommend looking at roundtrip flights into major European cities (London, Paris, etc), and then purchasing a separate flight from that airport to Naples as it is usually significantly cheaper.
Ex: LA to Naples is currently 1400 round trip, but LA to London is $550 round trip + $60 to Naples.
Once you arrive in Naples there are many ways you can
get to your first destination.
(We recommend not staying overnight in Naples)
Ferry from Naples -> Capri, Positano, Sorrento ($20-$30)
Taxi -> Easiest but most expensive, expect ~$200 to Positano
Private Car -> Great for groups (Options in Google Doc)
Bus -> Nice busses & cheap option - but can be slow (~$10)
